How it all started!
Pamela "The Expert", and founder of Healthcareexpert.net/Healthcare Learning Institute® has over 17 years Workers’ Compensation claims experience, and more than 27 years of healthcare experience. Pamela currently teaches,consults,and trains individuals in the area of Medical Coding and Billing,as well as claims processing for both Outpatient and Inpatient settings. In 1982 her healthcare experience began with the United States Army at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a Medical Supply Specialist which led her into a Pharmaceutical Sales position with a leading pharmaceutical company. This began a path for her to later become employed with a Medical Group, Hospital, a few Bill Review companies (several roles including management), and while serving as a "Expert" Hearing Representative at the Workers" Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB). Her experience also includes working with Insurance Companies (including management roles), and other Managed Care Organizations.
Pamela holds a Master of Business Administration Degree with a Health Services Management, and Information Technology concentration from The University of La Verne at La Verne, California. A Bachelors of Social Work Degree with a mental health concentration from La Sierra University at Riverside California, and holds a State of California certification as a "Medical Insurance Specialist/Medical Insurance Biller Instructor", "Workers' Compensation Medical Coding and Billing Fee Schedule", and is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
It has been a pleasure bringing this project together for those who are interested in learning The Official Medical Fee Schedule's (OMFS), and Medical Legal Fee Schedule's (MLFS)rules and regulations regarding workers’ compensation claims reimbursement, and other workers' compensation related topic's. I hope that everyone will find this website helpful, informative, and a rewarding learning experience while it provides knowledge, and growth potential for all individual's to achieve!

The primary objective of Healthcare Learning Institute® is to provide high quality and accessible workers’ compensation medical insurance education to residents within the state of California. This objective includes high school graduates and/or equivalent, graduate medical professional's, attorney’s, and those who are already trained in various healthcare profession's.
